Wizard 1st Life challenge Druid/FVS mix?
Hello,
I have a 1st life wizard and the challenge Ive set out for myself it to see how powerful I can get it without resorting to TRing. Why? I have a LOT of toons, and only one that I TR, the rest are 1st life challenge toons, because life is short and it takes a lot longer to lvl up a TR toon. One is enough.. Wone is enough :P (That is the name of my TR toon).
Anyways, my wizard may ultimately resort to TRing, but for now let us assume she isnt. She is currently lvl 23 and focused heavily on evocation magic.. and I find it isnt that spiffy at epics with so many creatures evading. Her DC gets up to around 40 at best.. its horrible. She isnt a tank, but I have tweaked her around a bit so she isnt a total noodle either, but at the cost of her already inefficient magic.
What gives? Why are wizards so gimpy compared to other classed? Oh well.. onward with the challenge.
I have a +20 chunk of wood I can use to remake her. I want her to be magic based, I already have a LOT of combat based toons so this is a break from bang bang chop chop.
Ive been considering to add 2 lvls of FVS, or 1 lvl of FVS and 1 lvl of druid. The other possibility is 2 lvls of rogue for evasion mixed with insightful reflexes. The other alternative is to keep her pure wizard for that +2 intelligence gained at lvl 20 prestige capstone.
Assuming everything before lvl 18 is gonna be the same-ish, lets compare the last two levels here:
Pure Wizard: +2 intelligence capper (and deathblock or +5 spellcraft) adds a big only whopping 1 to DC.. which at 1st life seems to suffer regardless...
Wiz18/FVS2: Scourge for up to +30 spell power, just reward for returns of up to 10 sp on crits, and additional crit chances... hmmm... tempting
Wiz18/Rogue2: Evade and trapping skills. The trapping skills will be annoying, everyone will expect me to be their trap monkey, ignoring that I am 1st life and in epics forget it.. so void trapping.. just evade, nothing else.. but evade is really nice.. obviously Ill have to kite a lot, but that only works if you can **** want your kiting fast..
Wiz18/FVS1/Druid1: Scourge for up to +30 spell power, a bit of crit bonus, and beguiling. Beguiling with magic missile or missle chain.. pew pew and the boss is slowed by 50%... 50% less effective in many ways.. easier to kite, less attack... hmmm... this is really looking good...
I thought about other lvls to add.. Barbarian would give blood tribute and increased speed and access to armor.. the increased speed is always nice.. but it wont do diddly squat for my spell power..
Oh, and yes, Im probably going to be investing more with CC effects, so aiming to get my DC up as much as is efficient within the first life boundary. It will never be top-notch, but it should be at least effective...
Any advice is welcome. Please keep it friendly.. go somewhere else if you are looking to troll negativity. Thank you.
