I'm also waiting for a response. I'd love to get the quiver, but the black abbot raid is lvl 18. no chance a lvl 20 toon can solo that

Pull down the little down arrow button, choose Options, in the Options dialog window choose the Repair tab, click the "Reset the game display settings" checkbox. Click OK. Then try starting again.

Same here. I'm on Virgin Broadband. Definitely worse since U35 and patches. Think it's a server issue.

Its because its running at a high resolution. By going to a higher res of 3840x2160. everthign seems smaller, only because you compressed the more by upping the res. DDO does not tailor well to high res. they dont scale at all.

Hi, I also have this problem. Have you been able to find something out about all this?

There are two ways that this would potential work.
1. how often do hit perhaps more than 1 per second.
2. Some abilities will have the timer reset on each hit. Which means you can take it to 20 then if you don't hit anything it would drop 1 every 3 seconds.

I would recommend that you start off at level 1. It will give you a chance to learn grow and gain items. Just remember that if you are going for a wiz/rogue combination that you start as a rogue. They start with a higher number of skill points which is useful.

1.You get the same amount of favor for running a quest on Reaper as you would from elite.
2. You can run over level as much as you want. IE if you are lvl 30 you can still run a level 1 quest on elite and get full favor.

Randomly stumbled across this while looking for something else. I'm a former constant player coming back from two years without being able to play. Just wanted to say hello and agree that DDO is a great outlet for anxiety, depression or just the odd rough day.

The INT modifier is added to your damage, instead of STR modifier. (Unless STR is higher, but then why would you be taking this enhancement?)

See this post which concerns running Firestorm viewer in Second Life, but should apply here.

Basically it entails uninstalling KB 3176938 and then running Windows Update Show/Hide to stop future installs. Problem solved

KB3176938 has been identified as the cause of this. Multiple games are affected, No acknowledgement from Microsoft as yet.

i've had the same problem.
How has it been since you played?
When they whent to lvl 30 they rearranged the xp you need per lvl. this means the first couple of epic lvls need more xp and the final lvls needs less.
I had a lvl 23 and my xp bar didn't move. its beacause you arn't on the right amount of xp yet. it will appear when you hit it. you are still granted the lvl you had before they changed it. and i found that Quests look at your xp total and not your lvl number so you can BB run quests at your current xp level.
you can check your xp level here -> http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_levels

For some reason whenever i go into the game and put in my username and password and choose my server, it always says after that it can't open the data files and that i have to check if they exist or if i have permission to write to them. This didn't happen before so i checked compatibility and apparently the game isn't compatible on Windows 10. This makes me a little mad.

There was a time when getting that item and upgrade was a major endeavour. If you're short a shield frag, and on Cannith, send me mail (in game) to Tarshyn, and I'll hook you up

Unsure, but I don't think the striding effect gives you attack speed bonus. Should be easy to check by hovering over melee bonuses on the lower right part of the haracter sheet.

Jade Ring from Butchers Parh quest is ML:1 and has a colourless slot as I recall.
...sadly, it's BtC (not BtA) so moving your Master's Gift between toons won't be possible with it...

I have this problem too. It's the The Happy Cloud program that running in the background. The way to stop this from happening is close down Happy Cloud once you're in the game.
I don't know it's function, but Happy Cloud runs once your the client is activated. Then ~10mins later in the game, Happy Cloud automatically closes itself after it has done it's job.
But something goes wrong when opening up two game clients, Happy cloud gets confused and brings down your game with it when it closes.
These circumstances happen when:
- Open up more than one game at the same time (i.e. dual-boxing). Only way I can dual-box is open up one game. Close down happy cloud. Open second game.
- Re-logging by opening another client before the previous Happy cloud closes.
- After an update, The Happy Cloud icon changes to say "Dungeons & Dragons Downloaded". If it says this, it always closes down my game. After the patch is downloaded, I have to close down the client and start again fresh.
Note that, don't close Happy Cloud while your game is on a loading screen. I did that once and it couldn't connect properly.
Hopefully this helps.

Docent "type" armor bonus is determined by the body feat you have, Default si composite plating, to get mithral or adamantine you need to spend a feat,
Imo mithral isn't worth the feat, adamantine could be nice, but you will have to deal with spell failure, so I don't recommend if you are new.
Fortification as such doesn't make healers hate you, there is one feat which adds fortification and makes you immune to positive healing. Regular fortification items do not interfere with the healing and are highly advisable.
Not sure about guides, but you can try wiki for some info http://ddowiki.com/page/Docent
There is a list of docents there too.

That this problem has been happening for the entire lifespan of DDO shows Turbine's commitment to CS! I am stuck on this error after two reinstalls so I think it is time to uninstall, free up some hd space, and never play DDO again as there are better d&d games, like the old infinity engine games and more. Problem solved!

The client is a piece of **** when it comes to new installs. I had the same thing happen interspersed with the 201 error when uninstalling/reinstalling 5 times before it worked. Turbine really blows at this kind of thing

I had the same problem. It took me 5 uninstall/reinstalls to finally fix it. It didn't install all the clien.whatever files I needed. It's literally the worst installer I've ever seen. Even malware installers work better than this. I've heard that some people can get around this with the Play Instantly option, but I'm not sure myself if it works. Either way, Turbine needs to get their heads out of their asses and implement a way to actually install all the files it needs.

Your Wis is 13 because only the highest bonus from your gear counts (which is +2 from goggles), the rest doesn't. That means, you should get gear with different bonuses to them.

I'm habing the same problem with the game with 2560x1440 native resolution. The lets me choose that and it appears set as that resolution in the game video settings but it looks like noly parts of the screen look that way. It makes the game look ancient with the oversized graphics. I'm sure it can look ok, but this makes me want to skip it.
Cheers.

In the Launcher, click the little Down arrow in the top right corner, go to Options, Proxy, and click on No Proxy.

This happens because the newest version of Firefox won't allow you to bypass bad signatures on HTTPS sites (Secure sites) and DDO has long had a faulty security signature. Makes you wonder why they ever switched to an HTTPS site... One work around is downgrading to FF 32. Previous versions can be found on the Mozilla site.

I'm having the same issue at the moment. I had to re-install DDO on the account that the launcher would open, because I hadn't played in so long, and figured it need serious updating. But after re-installing it, I get as far as choosing which server I want to join, and it crashes, and displays the same message. Hopefully re-installing it for the 2nd time will do the trick, but if not, I have no idea how to fix this problem..
