Looking for advice on Winterwolf flavor build!
Greetings all,
I'm looking into returning to DDO after a long time off, and want to play through the game and explore the content that's been added since I left. I don't need an optimal min/max build, it just needs to work, ideally solo, but not at the highest difficulties. The theme is a freezing winter wolf. To that end, I want to mix druid (duh) with bard for the freezes in the Warchanter tree. The general idea is to use the bard freezes to make mobs helpless and vulnerable to sneak attack damage from wolf form (Jaws of Winter plays into this cycle nicely). The increased attack speed from wolf form could synergize well with Northwind. Is there any good way to do this?
The freezes in the Warchanter line are based off of CHA, bard level, and tactics bonuses, while the winter wolf form freezes are based on WIS. Ideally, that would mean maxing CHA and WIS, going half elf with fighter dilettante (or fighter splash. Rogue dilettante is also worth considering for added sneak attack damage), and maybe using an exp stone to get a quick fighter past life (for tactics bonuses). But the attack/damage mod for wolf form is STR, I believe, which may be left a bit low if we focus on CHA and WIS. So I guess the big question here is: is there a way to make animal form attacks use CHA or WIS? I think bard swashbuckler has a CHA to damage enhancement, but I don't know if that works in animal form, and furthermore, attack mod would still be an issue.
In terms of split, I was thinking something along the lines of 15DRU/5BRD, or possible 13DRU/5BRD/2FTR, because I imagine this will be a feat-starved build. For the ED, probably Draconic Incarnation (cold-based, for the flavor) with Legendary Tactics from Legendary Dreadnought twisted in.
Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Again, this build need not be uber -- just needs to kinda sorta work through most of the content in the game. Thanks!
