I want to preface this post by saying that this will require you to have some TP on hand for extra hirelings, and that it will not level you remotely as fast as doing Elite runs of the super challenging dungeons. What it WILL hopefully do, though, is help give you some direction in choosing what to do, and not make you wait for long stretches for groups. Also, being a VIP will certainly help, but buying the adventure packs will work fine as well. Another thing is that this little method is mostly applicable to mid and upper levels because the early game is pretty easy to level though and even find groups for. This post also assumes that the player is a 1st lifer (like me). Basically, look for quests in your log that are of Average Difficulty, and utilize hirelings for your group members. If the log says to get a balanced party, or that hirelings may not suffice, then I suggest you skip it until you can find a real group to do it with. Try and pick quests that are 2-3 levels below you and run them on normal to get them down, and then switch to hard. For Normal buy a hireling from an NPC, and another from the DDO store. When you switch to Hard, buy an additional Hireling from the DDO store. Wait to go back and run it Elite when you've leveled. I'm a big fraidy cat, though, so maybe you can take it down on Elite no sweat. There are actually a TON of quests that are "Average Difficulty" and can be run this way. When you go into the instance you are flagged as a leader, and you might get some real people in your group too, and that can of course lead to bigger and badder questing and plunder. But hopefully my little post can give you some direction if there aren't any groups doing anything. I did this with "Missing" from the Harbinger of Madness chain, and while yes it doesn't yield the best stuff, hot damn I thought it was a fun instance. As an addendum, many people prefer to grind wilderness areas when there are no groups around, but I love the DDO dungeons so much I prefer to do those instead.
